The story of your trip, one day at a time
Beijing
Arrive at any time. Your tour guide meets you at the airport for a private transfer to the hotel.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Great Wall at Mutianyu.
Today, you will have ample time today to enjoy the beauty of the Great Wall to the fullest. Hiking on the Great Wall is highly recommended. The walk is approximately 5 kilometres and will take 2 to 3 hours depending on your level of fitness.
Later in the afternoon explore Beijing's old Hutongs. These narrow alleys are where ordinary Beijingers have lived for centuries. You'll pass traditional courtyard homes and local markets.
Take Beijing metro to visit the Forbidden City.
Located in the heart of Beijing, the Forbidden City served as the imperial palace for the Ming and Qing dynasties. Built from 1406 to 1420, it was home to 24 emperors over more than 500 years.
In the afternoon, your guide will take you to Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest public square and a symbol of modern China.
After finishing the visit to Tian'anmen Square, then board High-speed train to Xi'an.
Xi'an
In the morning, we will visit Terracotta Warriors, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world. Visiting the Terracotta Warriors allows travellers to witness the glory of ancient China and the remarkable achievements of early Chinese sculpture.
In the late afternoon, we will proceed to the Muslim Quarter. It is famous for various authentic Shanxi snacks and traditional local cuisine. Visitors can wander along lively streets, taste local delicacies and experience the unique blend of Hui culture and ancient Chang'an culture.
Savour the captivating after dark charm of Xi'an.
Today, we will visit Xi'an Ancient City Wall. It is the largest and best-preserved ancient city rampart in China, built in the Ming Dynasty. Cycling on top of the city wall is a classic local experience. Riding along the ramparts, visitors can overlook the ancient downtown area inside the wall and the modern city outside.
Then, wander around Giant Wild Goose Pagoda North Square. Trace the epic westbound pilgrimage of monk Xuanzang, the celebrated Tang dynasty Buddhist monk, and delve into the layered history and enduring legacy of the Silk Road.
Chengdu
Board a High-speed train in the late morning to Chengdu.
In the afternoon, we will proceed to Chengdu's People's Park, where you will visit Heming Teahouse and immerse yourself in authentic traditional Chinese teahouse culture.
In the morning, head to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to observe its hugely popular giant pandas.
Gain insight into the giant panda's life cycle and natural habitat while capturing memorable photos of these iconic national treasures. You may also spot other rare wildlife, including the lesser known red pandas. When visiting in autumn, you may get a glimpse of newborn panda cubs.
Then, stroll through Jinli Ancient Street, adjacent to Wuhou Shrine, and soak in its bustling atmosphere, red lantern draped alleys, local snacks and rich Sichuan folk heritage.
Emei Shan
Travel from Chengdu to Leshan this morning in a private vehicle.
Visit Leshan Giant Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site — the monumental Tang dynasty Maitreya statue carved into red sandstone cliffs. Descend the narrow Nine Bend Plank Road to the Buddha's feet for an up close perspective of this 71 metre high statue. Marvel at its extraordinary craftsmanship while admiring the sweeping view over the confluence of three rivers.
Then, drive to the foot of Mt. E'mei, located southwest of Sichuan Basin. Continue to the monastery.
We will take the scenic shuttle bus to Wannian Temple Parking Lot to start today's hike. The hiking route leads past Qingyin Pavilion, Guangfu Temple, Fuhu Temple, Shengshui Pavilion, Chunyang Hall and Leiyin Temple. The hike finishes at Wuxiangang Parking Lot. From here, the group can board the shuttle bus back to Baoguo Temple, or opt to hike onward to Fuhu Nunnery before walking back to Baoguo Temple.
Spend a full day exploring the monasteries, stunning vistas and sites of Mt Emei. Emei Shan Hike takes 6h-10h. Lace up your hiking boots for treks around Emei Shan.
Yangshuo
Board a High-speed train to Yangshuo.
You will arrive in Yangshuo at approximately mid afternoon. Enjoy a brief walk through Yangshuo.
Enjoy a bamboo raft ride along the Xingping section of the Li River, home to the most iconic karst landscapes of Guilin. Glide past dramatic limestone peaks including Nine Horse Fresco Hill and Yellow Cloth Shoal. Capture memorable photos at the famous 20 yuan banknote viewpoint. Drift through the scroll like riverside scenery and soak in the peaceful river breeze.
After lunch, cycle through Yangshuo's idyllic countryside along the Ten Mile Gallery. Pedal past rolling karst peaks, lush rice paddies and quiet rural villages. Enjoy the laid back pace as you ride towards Moon Hill and the banks of the Yulong River, soaking up the timeless pastoral scenery of Guangxi.
Shanghai
Catch a flight to Shanghai today and arrive in the late afternoon, Bund & Nanjing Road orientation walk with Tour Guide.
The Bund is Shanghai's iconic waterfront landmark. Along the Huangpu River stands a row of magnificent historic buildings known as the "Gallery of World Architecture". Across the river, the modern skyscrapers of Lujiazui form a striking contrast. Nanjing Road is the most famous commercial shopping street in Shanghai, featuring countless shops, restaurants and bustling city atmosphere. Combining historic architecture and modern urban glamour, a walk covering the Bund and Nanjing Road lets visitors experience the unique charm of Shanghai.
This morning, join your Tour Guide for an orientation walk around the city to see the shops and historic buildings. Join your Tour Guide at the Shanghai Museum or head out to venture through this beautiful city on your own.
